[Media Invite] Cadbury Most Marvellous' Bloggers Party

On April 6 afternoon, together with the some of the other bloggers, we on board the Joyville on a fun-filled, magical journey held at Nassim Hill. Despite the wet weather that day, all of us still look forward to what comes ahead..

The arrival of the Cadbury charter service, which they named it Joyville, surprises all of us much, just look at how adorable is the entire design of the bus, both outside and inside! Once on board, each of us were given a "boarding ticket" and props like party hats and geeky specs were seen on the seats for us, the Joyrider, to put on and start snapping pictures! =D

You may also charter Cadbury's Joyville bus with purchase of $20 or more on any Cadbury items. For booking or enquiry, do check out joyrider.sg or call +65 62328515. Great for throwing a birthday party or even a company event!

Thanks to Cadbury that brings out the child in all of us!!
Received my very first Cadbury Marvellous Creations Chocolate bar! ^^

[Food Tasting] Tim Ho Wan (添好运)

Have you been to and have already tried Tim Ho Wan at The Atrium @ Orchard, Plaza Singapura? Heard that there was an overwhelming response since the very first day of its opening! WOW~

And YES, the very first Tim Ho Wan outlet opens it's business right here in Singapore on Wednesday, 10 April 2013. We can all now enjoy Michelin star awarded Hong Kong famous dim sum restaurant, TimHoWan / 添好运 whenever we feel like eating it without the need to travel over. This is also their first overseas outlet!
Tim Ho Wan Singapore
Owned by Chef Mak Kwai Pui (formerly worked at renowned hotels such as Le Meridian and Four Seasons in Hong Kong) who is excited about bringing the brand to Singapore that offers authentic Hong Kong-style dim sum at affordable price (starting from as low as $3.80, WOW!). With each of his outlet in Hong Kong selling an average of about 2,000 bamboo baskets of dim sum everyday, long queue of patrons is a common sight.
Smiling with full confidence!
Big 4 Heavenly Kings'
Is a must to order their Big 4 Heavenly Kings at Tim Ho Wan, reason being;

(1) Baked Bun with BBQ Pork ($4.50 for 3) - About the size of one big steam bun, crumbly and fluffy exterior with super tasty barbecued sauce. Whoever tried it said they want to order a second or third set! That night when we were tasting it, one of our friend ordered SEVEN set of these at one go simply because the baked bun is heavenly delicious...
Personal favourite
(2) Vermicelli Roll with Pig's Liver ($5.50) - I don't eat pig's liver personally but i find this dish quite tasty, the sauce is just right and the pig's liver is actually very tender to chew on! Other different variations of Vermicelli Roll (Chee Cheong Fun) includes BBQ Pork ($5.50), Shrimp ($5.50), Beef ($5.50), Black Pepper ($5.00)...
Great taste!
(3) Pan Fried Carrot Cake ($4.50 for 3) - Generous strips of turnip inside so it really feels like eating the real Carrot Cake, very different from the usual carrot cake we ate.
Something more unique
(4) Steamed Egg Cake ($3.80) - It appear rather huge for the price! It taste very good as well, soft texture, very similar to a sponge cake. And after taking a few bites, i quite like the taste of it. =)
So HUGE So CHEAP! SO YUMMY also!

Some other dishes in the menu are;
Prawn Dumpling ($5.50 for 4pcs) - my gf's favourite dish! She commented that the prawns' meat were of good quality!
Pork Dumpling with Shrimp ($5.00 for 4pcs) - Super tender meat! Another personal fav.

Spring Roll with Egg White ($4.20 for 3pcs) - Another yummy dish with refreshing egg white and radish wrapped with the crispy crunchy skin, two thumbs-up for the great match! ( I'm a great lover of spring roll, and i would rate this above my expectation)
As for their desserts, you can choose to go for either the hot ones or the cold ones;
(1) Yam Puree with Sago (Hot) ($3.50)
(2) Tonic Medlar & Osmanthus Cake (Cold) ($3.50 for 3pcs)

We choose the latter one, because it sounded more special with its long name that caught our attention right away! It was beautifully shaped and surprisingly pleasant with sweet aroma when tasted. The look of it reminds me of those similar desserts that empress in the past enjoys. =)
Love this sweet jelly-like texture
Take-away express counter
The restaurant provides a very comfortable, clean feel with two different sections - for dine-in as well as for takeaway, smart design being more organised system. In addition, to cater for days with long queues, Tim Ho Wan's staffs will issue queue number if the waiting time is too long and will notify customers via SMS whenever table is ready. Time-consuming and hassle-free isn't it?

Thank you Maybeline and the organizer for the invites!

Although varieties on the menu are limited at the moment, it was said that in time to come, more interesting dishes will be added. Furthermore, not many places offers really good quality food at such low/ affordable price! All in all, i will definitely recommend it to all my friends! =)

Updates;

Firstly, wishing all Thais a Happy Songkran Day! [13th~17th Apr] I kinda wonder why there is such water festival in the first place..

It was said that originally, people gently pour water to elders and family to give good fortune, but now it has evolved to splashing strangers on the streets with water all in the spirit of fun. Because of this, Songkran is also often called as the Water Festival. The water festival is about cleaning, purification, and fresh starts. Houses are cleaned, Buddha statues are gently washed with scented water, and elders are honored by pouring water respectfully over their hands. Dousing or sprinkling people with water signifies the washing away of bad thoughts and actions, and brings them good luck in the new year. Till date, splashing complete strangers with water has become the main attraction of the festival which add to the growth in tourism = economy boost.

Next, Sis and bro came back from their Taiwan trip last Thursday night, and besides having tons of clothes thrown into the laundry bag waiting to wash, they also bought lots of stuffs from Taiwan! The best thing about family members going overseas, would definitely be receiving gifts from them when they are back!

A gift from my sweetiex
Tried KFC New Double Down
#LOTD: Top from Bugis Village; Skirt is a gift from overseas; bracelets from Cotton On

SO LOVE
Shorts from sis =)
Tee from bro =)
It's been long since i last spend one whole day just doing shopping, and it felt really good going on a shopping date with a gf, spending and enjoying the day together even though one whole day of walking can sure cause aching to our limbs, backs and necks! Still, worth shopping plus a great way to exercise!

Thats all for now, Thanks for reading~ Goodnight!
